I have not posted about a book in ages and I think I found one worth writing about. The book is Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron with Bret Witter and while I am only a couple of chapters in I think it is pretty good.

I have been reading The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw and the book is amazing. It is about the generation who grew up during the great depression, fought during WWII, and returned to a regular life. Each chapter of the book focus on a different person; their life before the war, during the war, and after the war.

My new job is going very well. I work at a family run business that is located in south Seattle. The working atmosphere is wonderful and there is a lot of chatting in our free time.

I went out for a couple of hours. It was time to explore the local station and it is a lovely area. The station is a two to three block area with a ton of different stores and restaurants (like an open aired village). I had sixth period off today and I managed to finish the latest Jodi Picoult book. Wow, Nineteen Minutes was so good. I loved Jodi’s last bit in the acknowledgement section “...to the thousands of kids out there who are a little bit different, a little bit scared, a little bit unpopular: this one’s for you.”

CHRISTMAS LESSONS! That is what I am doing at the elementary schools. I had my first day of solid Christmas lessons and it went very well. The fifth and sixth graders at Ami Daiichi are starting to pick up English words rather fast and because I see them twice a month the English lessons are starting to take a fun tone. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows arrived today. It is sitting on my couch waiting for me to open it. This will be my final adventure with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. They have been my friends since my sophomore year of high school and this is it. To be honest, I emotional and I am not sure that I am ready for this to be the end. The schools in the area (Ami, Kawachi, and Miho) have their sports competition today. This means that there are no classes so I will be sitting at my desk today. Luckily last night I remembered this and I ran over to Andrea’s apartment to pick up the next three books in the Anita Blake series.

It was a nice day yesterday and for some reason I felt the need to clean out my closet. I put all of my winter wear in my suitcase and then started to wash/air out all of my spring/summer wear. I did two piles of laundry yesterday and I have two more piles to do today when that is done I will be ready for spring and summer.
