The Purolator truck came early today, and it seems that I missed it by about 10 minutes.  I have to wonder if there was a different driver today, since Darwin normally phones if I'm not there, and he knows I'm waiting for some parts to come in.  I have the shop's phone-number posted on the door, so whoever was supposed to drop ( Read more... )

     Business continues to boom at Iron Pony; While stuff is going out, it's coming in even faster!  Today saw a water-pump, a gas-powered air-compressor, and a chainsaw before Noon!  Speaking of chainsaws, I finally sold one of the Dolmar 5105 chainsaws; These are the larger (and thus more expensive) mid-level saws, so selling it brought in a nice ( Read more... )

     It wouldn't be so bad if it were only raining outside, but since the roofing crew still hasn't gotten over here to put the new roof on the shop, it's raining in the shop as well!  Once again, I have buckets all over the place collecting the rain dripping in, and I can only imagine the damages this is doing to the insulation in the attic.  I ( Read more... )

     May continues to be a good month so far: I'm getting more machines out, which means money coming in, and more machines and more customers continue to come in as well.  My GST rebate for Iron Pony came in the mail today, which was a relief on two fronts: 1) I have the money, and 2) the arrival of the cheque means that I'm not going to be ( Read more... )

The day was pretty much non-stop with customers coming in to buy parts, pick up their machines, and otherwise put money into my back accounts.  A little over $1000 went into the bank accounts today, which is just awesome; definitely ( Read more... )

     I haven't posted much in the last few days; It's been quiet overall, although busy.  I guess that's part of the problem with keeping a journal - when things start to become commonplace, they just don't seem to be worth writing about.  This sort of thing is what kills so many journals, and it's really a shame.

     The weather this month has certainly been up and down, but at least the few times that it did snow it also melted within a couple days.  We had four inches of snow over the weekend, only to have it all melt within two days.  I can live with that.
