I've been working on my new NCIS story, which takes place at the beginning of season five.  It's coming, but very slowly - I've been having a hard time "hearing" the characters, for some reason.  So, I've been watching some episodes from season four...

I'm officially halfway through the holiday performance season.  Play of Herod was this past weekend, and it was awesome.  It's kind of an acquired taste, but I love it.  I start as an angel, and then become an innocent, both of which I find highly amusing.  ;-)  This coming weekend is our choir concert, which I fear will not be nearly as awesome.   ( Read more... )

Thanks so much for the writing thoughts, especially the reminder that it really is OK to start in the middle.  I forced myself to start a scene that I've been tossing around in my head for awhile, and getting even a little bit down has me excited to get home and keep going.  I have no idea where in the story it would fall, but at least something's ( Read more... )

Do you ever sit down to write, only to find nothing there?

Ideas aren't the problem.  Not exactly.  I have all kinds of ideas for stories, some half-formed, most pretty dumb, to be honest.  The ideas are there.  The problem is, none of them are burning to be written.
