i really need to start keeping first drafts
Dear Steph,
You know that story of yours that you just read? The one that was actually somewhat good? Yeah, you didn't write it that way the first time. It's called "editing" and "revision" and "anal-retentive obsession over word choice". The first draft was kinda crap. Therefore, it stands to reason that the first draft of whatever you write next will be kinda crap as well. Deal with it.
Quit holding yourself to your own standards, or you will NEVER get through NaNo.
