We had a quiet day at the Uncles. The stress levels I have at the 'berry are nonexistent at the bookstore. I spent more than I made, but hey I got more books to bring home. I got my copy of Alan Bean's Painting Apollo. I already have most of these from his earlier book, but I'm always happy to get new Apollo materials.

We just had the third driest May on record, so folks around here are very happy to have a nice day long rain today. I got a bit soggy riding to work and back from the bookstore, but totally worth it. I've never seen the creeks so dry around here. Every day on my walks at the 'berry I can see more creek bed and less water. I came across two large ( Read more... )

 I've been recovering from a nasty cold, so my bike riding is way down. All the wind and rain clouds haven't helped. Hopefully the weekend will bring some long rides. The weather last week was pretty decent and I put a lot of miles of the bike. I rode to work four days in a row. The only downside was getting up early enough to have time to make the trip. The snow from yesterday is gone, the sun is back (and the wind) and I was out on the trails for three hours. I took the SW trail to the Greenway. Stopped in at the Uncles again, I was just buying books on Tuesday. I headed down the Greenway to the Mighty Mississippi and followed West River Parkway upstream to the Falls of St. Anthony. Temps have finally been above average around here, so I rode the bike for the second weekend in a row. I rode to work at the Uncles Saturday and did a recreational ride Sunday. Free time has been in short supply the past few weeks. I finally have the van repaired from the  accident with the fellow who turned in front of me as I was going straight through an intersection with a green light. I feel so bad. I forgot to get my Groundhog Day cards out the post office on time. I hope you had a safe holiday.
