I feel so bad. I forgot to get my Groundhog Day cards out the post office on time. I hope you had a safe holiday. I was supposed to have the day off,but I went in for part of the day at the bookstore to cover the register. I had several delightful conversations with some out of towners. We got in a ton of new titles today. I was very happy to pick up a copy of Undone by Rachel Caine. It's a spin off series from her fantastic Weather Warden series. This is the first book in the Outcast Season series. I'll be up late reading it tonight.
We made it above freezing one day in January, on Saturday. Everything started melting and now we're in the freezer again. The ice isn't as bad as down South, but it's bad all the same. The pot holes are growing larger as I type. The front steps are like a frozen water fall now. Can you say lawsuit? I knew you could.
I had lots of plans for the day, but going in to work rather messed that up. I had a good time though and I felt good about being able to help out after being sick most of last week. My voice is still a bit off from normal and I'm going through rather a lot of tissues, but it's getting better. I did see my 'berry was on the news again for a piece on the increases in the use of libraries. They didn't mention the fact that that we have less staff and resources to help people. Sunday we had over 25 patrons for every staff member. That's fine when everyone's playing nice, but people have been on less than their best behavior. Bookstore customers have much better manners.
Stimulate that economy and buy a book.
