Well, today I did my civic duty and went in for jury duty. As expected, I did not get called to serve. None of us did. They did have a trial, but opted for a judge trial. I don't really blame her, I've found that even my own father is notoriously under educated on some simple (what I consider simple) word meanings. I blame the schools and the parents. I was listening to a story on NPR about ice racing in NH, and some of the racers who race on frozen ponds were 13 years old, not even legal to drive on solid ground. So we had our first ice dam here yesterday. We went to bed, and the pillows felt like they were damp. We immediately thought the cats were up to no good, but it didn't smell catty.
