With all the things on my to-do list for this week*, I really didn't need something else.  Charlie needs a new cloak for WoW next weekend.  The one he'd been wearing is really too small.  It was made from a lady's pattern that I used for myself almost 30 years ago.  At the time I made his (fur lined), it fit.  Now, he's 6'1" with broad shoulders ( Read more... )

Yesterday's Golden Rose Tourney was a really pleasant day (except for the heat!).   Donal had been asked by Duchess Melisande to be her  Herald, so we were set up with her team for the day.  I enjoyed spending time with everyone there.  It's a nice change of pace to be with such a group of friends.  So many times we find that we've spent the whole ( Read more... )

Well, the rain is almost here and Charlie has barely started cutting grass.  I tried to get him up before 9am to do it, knowing it was going to rain this afternoon.   He just came in for a drink.  I think I hear thunder.

It's almost the end of the semester for my two classes.  The exam for the UNIX class that meets on Monday has to be submitted (on-line thru Blackboard) by next Friday.   It involves writing three short programs - or rather the same program in three different languages.  I still need to do some of the assignments from a couple of chapters before ( Read more... )

My other half, donal_mac_r , whose birthday was yesterday, woke up this morning with a raging fever and chills.  He was fine last night when we celebrated with dinner at Red Lobster.    I hope he recovers enough to attend KASF next weekend (and that none of the rest of us get it!).

I'm multi-tasking.  Sewing, reading e-mail and LJ, doing laundry, watching Charlie experiment in the kitchen, waiting for Richard to call to be picked up from school.

A few days ago I was going thru my stash of fabric and pulled out a piece of light brown/tan linen.  It was what I had made a hood for Donal out of.  There's about 6 yards remaining.  I decided to use it to make at least a skirt for myself.  Yesterday, I started pressing the fabric to smooth the edges so it would be easier to measure and sew.  ( Read more... )
