Yes, it's really hot.  On the way back from the grocery store the temperature readout in the car said 102.  At home, the thermometer on the porch read 100 as does the one here in the kitchen.  The indoor/outdoor one that goes out a window in the den read 107.  Officially for our zip code, it is103 ( Read more... )

... as soon as I want to go out on the screened porch and do handwork on a project, it gets cloudy and threatens to storm.   Grrr.  

My other half, donal_mac_r , whose birthday was yesterday, woke up this morning with a raging fever and chills.  He was fine last night when we celebrated with dinner at Red Lobster.    I hope he recovers enough to attend KASF next weekend (and that none of the rest of us get it!).

This morning when we got up, the outside temperature was in the upper 30's.  When I left for work at about 8:30, the temperature read-out in the car said 34.  When I got home about 2:30, Charlie reported that the indoor/outdoor thermometer in the den was reading 70.    He already had the door open to the screened porch.  We opened the kitchen door ( Read more... )
