I know I was just lamenting the amount of rain we've been getting...but I'm still not tired of listening to it hitting the windows.

It's not so much less rain I want, but more sun.

And 36-hour days!  Yay!

The rain around here just keeps going on and on.  Tomorrow is supposed to be "dry" (they say), but not sunny, and then wet again on Tuesday.  I just looked up the data, and we've had about twice the normal rain, and no clear days -- they've been about equally partly cloudy and just plain cloudy.

Facing the sun early in a clear evening, as it lay at  30 degrees above the horizon.  Not to be looked at directly, but gentle on the eyes otherwise, its light glowed in the atmosphere, an aura spread wide around it that looked like somewhere you could go, climbing up the slope of it and looking down at the earth spread out below.  It had a silent ( Read more... )

That cold front that streaked across much of North America has gone through here, too, with its 60 mile and hour gusts.
