I've returned to my Java roots. I stopped making excuses and downloaded a bunch of Java stuff. There's a world of free tutorials online and I even ordered a book as well. My son has finally reached that age where he'll really just play on his own for a while. It's fantastic. The other day I was able to say, "Please go play while I make dinner," and he did! I question my fathering ability often, but one of my biggest fears is that I'm inadvertently programming my child for failure. I'm always worried that some little side comment with be taken to heart and negatively affect him. For example, my kid is currently teething. So, I turned 30 recently, and I have to say, despite the dreading I did, it was basically a non-event.
