I'm new to the area and will be transferring my car title soon. I understand there is a mandatory vehicle inspection as well. When I lived in Pennsylvania the inspection seemed mainly to be an excuse for the repair shop/dealer to find minor BS stuff. Does that tend to be the case here? I have noticed this trend at busy intersections, particularly post-daylight-savings (because apparently, nobody here knows how to drive in the dark). I thought that if I could influence just a single driver to change his/her driving habits, it would save many other drivers a few minutes of frustration ( Read more... )

Wondering if anyone know someone who does this.  Is it an all in package or simply an installer.  What have people thought/observed about these.  We have a new baby and transporting him in the morning is a lot nicer if the car is already warmed up.

I have a Jeep Wrangler. I love it, but the gas is killing me, and I'm going to be replacing it with a Mini next year. The thing is, it's really useful for trips to Home Depot, doing yard work, hauling firewood, etc so I don't really want to give it up. I had a little fender-bender yesterday... there's hardly any damage to my hood (I think), but it is bent slightly in such a way that I don't think I can pop the hood. Since the damage is low, and the other person's car isn't damaged, I'd like to find out myself first if the cost will be more than I can handle. Anybody know a trustworthy body shop ( Read more... )

A good friend of mine lives in Allston, and he has a new roomie. The new guy is 18 and a freshman at BU. He has been parking his car on Comm Ave since he moved in on Monday.
