I think I want to start the V-neck gown. I finished the kirtle so the support is complete and I have all the materials. If I do that, the entire project will be complete. However, Because it is velvet and will be worn over wool, it will be warm and I most likely will not be able to wear it until fall. But, it will be ready to wear next cold, ( Read more... )

Over 6 months since my last post. 2010 remained difficult and chaotic. But now, I feel invigorated, and hopeful in the new year. After taking over a year and a half off from the SCA (Pennsic excluded) I am really feeling a renewed interest in the hobby. A week later and I am finally venturing online.  Recovery has taken a while.  I had to catch up on all of my missed work for the French class, which thankfully ended yesterday.  We came home Saturday night late to find our house infested with fleas and have spent the week dealing with that.  EEEEWWWWW.  In addition, our car had a flat tire, there ( Read more... )

In the last 48 hours:

• I hand finished all of the interior seams on my supportive cote and finished about 1/3 of the hem.
• cleaned and vacuumed out the van (no small feat).
• Done about a zillion loads of laundry and dishes
• Made 2 pairs of braes, 1 pair of chause, and a hood.
• Took K in for a blood test for Lymes (not fun!)

So, there are less than 2 weeks left before we head off to Pennsic.  I am feverishly trying to get my house clean, find all of my camping gear/SCA stuf, and finish the few sewing projects left.  This year I declared that I am going to Pennsic with whatever garb I have and not making any more.  That being said, I need to finish the padded gloves for ( Read more... )

It was a good day.  Eleanor LB and the girls came to visit because my hubby had to work. We went to a BBQ at friends from Pennsic along with Pearl of Venice and Co.  It was a good day.  The kids swam and ran around, mead was flowing, and the fireworks were pretty.  It was a great family time ( Read more... )
