Malcolm X was assasinated today in 1965. And the Vietnam war escalated the same year; the US got involved militarily in 1964 after the Gulf of Tonkin incident. I am full of knowledge about the Vietnam War, because I had to write a paper about it last week comparing it to the Iraq War. They are astonishingly similar! today was the second windiest day in davis (according to the dayanita center for statistics) and it was also the day i decided to wear a skirt and bicycle to class. the plus side was that it was not cold, it was just windy. the other plus is that i am getting better at riding with one hand (that's what she said?), so i could hold down my skirt as ( Read more... ) -

last friday was spent frantically cleaning. we vacuumed, we scrubbed the bathroom, cleaned the sinks, straightened up the common room. after that i cleaned up some more around my side of the room. i used to be a mess. my room was a mess always. but these days, i've found that i'm putting things back where they go, actually folding my laundry as ( Read more... ) -

well, i'm really liking it here. i like waking up early and going to class and finding out the names of whoever is sitting next to me. chances are i won't sit next to them again, but then it's more new faces. mornings are usually very cold, but the bicycling is wonderful. it was probably one of my biggest concerns, but it's actually easier to get ( Read more... ) -

i finally cried today. you know how people cried on the last day of school or at graduation? they had their epiphany at the end. i know that i've always been a bit slow on intake, i think things through slowly. well i had mine today. i finally realized that i am leaving people i love. i ran out of tiffany's house, because i needed to cry on that ( Read more... )
