well, i'm really liking it here. i like waking up early and going to class and finding out the names of whoever is sitting next to me. chances are i won't sit next to them again, but then it's more new faces. mornings are usually very cold, but the bicycling is wonderful. it was probably one of my biggest concerns, but it's actually easier to get around. plus it puts distance in to perspective, it makes things seem less far. also, i don't feel so bad, theres no emissions and it does't hurt the environment.
last week was great, everyday megan, mona (our suitemate) and myself would venture out to the campus. one day it was to find classes, one day it was to get books, one day it was to register bikes and try the even nicer dining hall. i even went to a few frat parties, i feel like they were all the same. badly furnished, crowded, beer pong, nice people, drunk people, loud people, attractive people, dancing, music, dark lighting. it's not really what i'd like to do on a friday night, but i've met some cool people and i can't turn down potential friends.
one day we went into downtown. the downtown is sort of like the one in fullerton. it's a lot smaller, more quaint, way less cars. lots of boutiques and one of a kind restaurants. we even got out groceries at a co-op, which is pretty cool. all the products in the store are from local farms, so it's the good stuff.
i think i'm getting braver too. i think i'm developing feelings for someone, we talked once. i initiated the conversation last friday near the bike racks. it was fate it really was. i saw him in my math class and there he was, locking his bike for the same building. then i saw him on sunday night when mona decided to go swimming with some other people on our floor. i liked that. i hope i get to talk to him again.
