When I came back to Dallas from Austin, my parents were in the midst of a severe financial crisis. This meant that meat was pretty much absent from their table. The Fab4 celebrated The Captain's knighting last night at Texas de Brazil, and I was able to join them.

Calling what they have there a "salad bar" is damning with faint praise. It was almost enough to make me not sad at all about the huge slabs of meat wandering around the restaurant that I couldn't have.

I have defeated Passover.

From now on it holds no terror for me.

Less than an hour before the second Seder started I learned that one of the guests is a gluten intolerant vegan. I produced three courses (there would have been dessert too, but she was getting full at that point) for her, including a soup devoid of matzah balls.

A coworker has a theory that there are two kinds of people in the world, those who like Thin Mints and those who like Samoas. He posits a world of those devoted to Purple pitted against the disciples of Green in mortal combat.

Got a haircut I'm fairly happy with. First place in a while I've been to that I'm planning on going back for the next one.
