Today, October 30, 2009 marks one year since Sam suddenly, unexpectedly left his family and friends.  We all miss his incredible wit, silly writings, sarcastic humor, remarkable poetry, and most of all his love for life in the face of dealing with a terrible disease that wasted away his muscles but not his mind or soul.

     Sam was a little less than seven months shy of his 21st birthday, when he passed away in his sleep on October 30, 2008 from heart failure due to his Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  Had Sam lived to experience this milestone event, here is what would have taken place.

Sam (woodworth) passed away peacefully while sleeping on Oct 30, 2008 due to heart failure.  Although he was only 20 years of age, he lived a full life and did not let the terrible disease he had, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, rule him.  He developed a heart condition over the past two years due to his disease and was taking several heart ( Read more... )
