Can anyone identify the film this still came from?

Oops...

A further search on the phrase "Dante's Inferno" and that image turns up an essay referencing the original Famous Monsters column--which, being written by Joe Dante of later Gremlins fame, was entitled "Dante's Inferno"--somewhat confounding the issue, although the still does seem to have a similar flavor to the images I've brought up from the movie:
