My friend is having trouble placing a scene. It could be a film or tv show. She thinks it was a girl, possibly with a friend, babysitting at a house and she finds on the bookshelf Kama Sutra or some other guide to sex book and is looking at it. Looking for a film from the early 2000s...has two main female characters. One of them cuts the other's hair, and uses the girl's hair in a voodoo doll. One of the main scenes has her walking the doll up a staircase which causes the other girl to fall down a flight of stairs.

The first one is an animated movie. Essentially it's about an adventurous nanny. The is a family of three: mom, dad and a daughter. The parents go oof somewhere because the mother is an artist/painter and the nanny comes to sit with the girl. The nanny used to babysit the mother when she was a child, I think. My dad and I used to watch this show on TVO when I was a kid in the early/mid-nineties. We called it "the angel show," but there weren't any angels in it. It was a night before Christmas-style animated short without any dialogue. I remember reading at the time that this character actually predates The Crow series. I'm pretty sure it started out as a (Mexican?) comic of some kind. A film was released circa 2006/7. It may have been direct to video or a re-release. It was in English, however, not dubbed ( Read more... )
