Okay I kind of pigged out on movies this weekend. I'm still tired a lot, and relaxing with a movie and a glass of wine is a lot more appealing than, say, cleaning out my basement. Which I really need to do. But I digress.

Just saw "The Orphanage" last night. It was amazing, gorgeous and spooky. They're advertising it as this year's Pan's Labyrinth, but it's more like this year's Devil's Backbone. "Hatchet" advertises itself as "Old-School American Horror." To a certain degree, it is. As you can guess by the title, it's a slasher flick. I first saw "Perdita Durango" on HBO a number of years back under its American release title, "Dance With The Devil." I loved it. I loved it so much that I went out and bought the DVD.
