So yeah, I am getting ready to go to bed but I am going to update anyway.  Aftan is eating her cereal.  She doesn't like it but she is eating it anyway.  Her face gets all scrunched up and she makes this face like "Oh my God, this is disgusting".  I think that maybe in a week or so if she doesn't have a reaction to the cereal (which I'm assuming if ( Read more... )

Well, we went out and got the highchair for Aftan.  She sits up really nice in it and she loves playing with the toy that came with it.  We had her 4 month appointment and the pediatrician gave us the go ahead to start solids.  He asked us if we had been giving her solids before now and we told him no.  I guess it's not all that uncommon for people ( Read more... )

Last night was Aftan's first Halloween.  We took her over to Steve's parent's house dressed up like a pony.  She was such a ham and everyone loved her.  There was a little girl out there trick or treating and she was 1 1/2 years old.  Just two months older than Aftan will be next Halloween so maybe next year she will actually be able to walk around ( Read more... )

So yeah, I don't know what all that was about Aftan not sleeping through the night for about 4-5 nights but she's gone back to sleeping through the night.  I read somewhere that they might temporarily stop sleeping through the night when they are learning a new skill because they want to practice it instead of sleeping.  Makes sense since she has ( Read more... )

Just a quick update. Aftan is doing well. Last night we discovered that even while swaddled she can roll over onto her tummy. Scared the heck out of Steve when he went in there last night while she was crying and found her laying face down in her crib. He didn't want to swaddle her back up but she wouldn't sleep otherwise. Let's see if I can boil this down to a nutshell. (Probably not). Aftan is getting bigger and bigger, although the paranoia has struck me that she is not getting enough to eat. I know that she is because she sleeps and she isn't cranky all the time. She's a happy baby and I guess a starving baby wouldn't be a happy baby. It's just that she's ( Read more... )
