Let's see if I can boil this down to a nutshell. (Probably not). Aftan is getting bigger and bigger, although the paranoia has struck me that she is not getting enough to eat. I know that she is because she sleeps and she isn't cranky all the time. She's a happy baby and I guess a starving baby wouldn't be a happy baby. It's just that she's not all round and pudgy like most babies. But then I have to remind myself that most of the pudgy babies are on formula...making them pudgy. Don't get me wrong, she's not supermodel skinny or anything but she's not a roly poly either. She did great on our trip. She slept most of the way in the car. On the way there she took a bottle and I pumped to get her another bottle for the way back but on the way back she would not take the bottle at all. So I had to just feed her, which was fine. It just took a little longer to get home. Everyone loved her in Maryland especially my cousin's nine year old little girl who would not put Aftan down. I mean LITERALLY. If I had her in my arms for even a second she would come over and say "Can I hold her?" and almost rip her out of my arms. But I digress. But since she was a good girl on the trip we bought her a new bunny rabbit and while we were at Babies R' Us we saw this chair called a Bumbo which is this cute little chair for babies who are able to hold their head up but not quite able to sit up on their own. She sits up in it like a big girl. We put it on the table when we are eating and so she gets to sit with us. But that brings on another problem. She has noticed our food and reaches out for it and gets fussy when she can't have it. It'll be another 3 weeks before we can start her on solid foods and I think she will be ready. God, solid foods already. I swear that next week she'll be driving. And another achievement that has has come about (more for us than for her) is that she'll sleep in her swing now. So if I don't feel like rocking her to sleep for a nap during the day I'll plop her in the swing and off to sleep she goes. I came home from work last night to see all the lights turned off (we turn them off at night so she gets the idea it's almost bed time) and Steve watching t.v. and Aftan in her swing all watching t.v. with him. It was so cute although she shouldn't really be watching his t.v. shows. But her new record for sleeping was 10 1/2 hours straight. Now she averages about 8 hours straight at night. Good for me!!!!! Bumbo and bath time pics to follow (as soon as photoshop cooperates).
