So yeah, I am getting ready to go to bed but I am going to update anyway. Aftan is eating her cereal. She doesn't like it but she is eating it anyway. Her face gets all scrunched up and she makes this face like "Oh my God, this is disgusting". I think that maybe in a week or so if she doesn't have a reaction to the cereal (which I'm assuming if she was going to she would have already) we will start her on the veggies. I think she might like them a little more. I broke down and tasted the cereal and it wasn't the worst thing I've ever tasted in my life but it definitely is not something I would ever want to eat again. I still want to give her some time to get used to it because it has a lot of good vitamins and iron and things that she needs in it. I mean she could get along fine without it and the breastmilk is all she really needs right now but the iron is good for her.
But anyway, this Sunday we are going out and looking for a good, sturdy entertainment center. The stand we have the t.v. on right now is open in the front and Aftan will be pulling up in the next few months and the pediatrician said that we needed to start babyproofing. We don't want her to have access to the cable box and everything because they are down low on this t.v. stand. Plus we have wires that are running along the baseboard to the t.v. and they are exposed so we need to have them covered. The entertainment center will cover that wall so that the wires will be behind the center. Plus the DVD player (which we also need to get a new one of those this weekend) and cable box and all that will be up higher and we will be able to put child locks on the doors of the entertainment center so that she can't get into it. Man, this is all coming on so fast. She is getting so big and she is smart. She already is able to reach out for whatever it is she wants and can actually get it. Plus, when we put her on the floor she rolls wherever it is she wants to go and she can get whatever it is she wants if it is down low enough. And she is gaining the ability to manipulate things. She has a new toy that has a little rolling wheel on it and she knew exactly what to do with it and how to spin it the first time we gave it to her and the first time we put the handles from the sippy cup on her bottle she knew exactly what to do with it and how to hold it. So she can hold her own bottle now...and a sippy cup for that matter. So I wouldn't put it past her to be able to figure out how to open the door to a low lying cabinet. So babyproofing it is.
