I just followed a bunch of excited chickadee chirping to one of our nest boxes and saw two chickadees perched nearby. I noticed a lot of cheeping today at the chickadee nest boxes and hung out for a while to check things out. One of the four babies was sticking its head out of the box and flew out to a nearby branch; it was being coaxed out by its parents ( Read more... )

There was a black phoebe singing from the top of the neighbors tree today.

A pair of chickadees are excavating the wood chips out of the nest box I put on a power pole in our front yard.

A twittering commotion directed my attention out the bathroom window this morning where I observed a small flock of five or six green-violet swallows checking out one of our nest boxes. I built and put up a nest box for flying squirrels and or Douglas squirrels a few days ago.

Yesterday I built and put up two owl nest boxes.

I guess I could say I put up two owl homes and an owl feeder.

We mowed the lawns for the first time this season.
