Volunteering yesterday was boring. The same vacant building burned twice (!!), though we only went once. We ate Bread Co. (aka Panera, for those of you outside of Da Lou). I got to go knitting today for the first time in months. This was super exciting. First I went to the yarn store to get some yarn, where I bought some books (oops) and some lovely soft Malabrigo. I laid around on the couch most of today, listening to Jonathan Strange (only 6.5 more hours to go!). I did eventually get up to get zippers for some theoretical skirts, and I got a couple of half-price patterns for a wide variety of skirts. Some A-line and some tiered, gypsy-ish. Things are crappy. I ate McDonald's and Blackthorn today. I may have to skip meals tomorrow to make up for it. If you have difficult boss tips, please feel free to share them. Today I went to knitting, where I turned the heel on my first sock (I hadn't really touched it since Sunday). It went pretty darn well; now I just have to finish the foot and do the next one. I'm almost to the heel flap on my first sock. It's looking good, though I'll admit being nervous about the size. It's not looking like my regular socks at all, but they're stretchier than this is.
