Last night, in the bath after the party.

Me: Did you have a good birthday?
Her: Yeah.
She usually says 'yeah' in response to any questions she didn't really understand, so don't take it at face value.
Me: Are you a happy girl?
Her: Cake!
I think she understood that one...

I just got a check in the mail for $.02.  Yes, two whole cents.  It was apparently interest on escrow from the mortgage broker who held the note on our house for all of like 3 weeks before they sold it to the company that actually holds the mortgage now.  They paid $.41 for postage, plus the envelope and the cost of printing the check, all to send ( Read more... )
