Now that vacation is over and I'm back home, I'm trying to wrap my head around writing again. So I participated in a kinkmeme. (Lots of kinks are still unfilled guys, do your part, I did mine).

So now I've got to get cracking. Last time I left my poor George, he was trying to take a shower.

I asked for Concrit and I got it. Some of it quite practical and good. Other of it somewhat disconcerting, because it shows up that I've failed in some of my basic goals I've set for myself, and that I had some confidence that I'd achieved.

( So can I pull some con from this crit? )

Those of you who know me (and I assume everyone bothering to read me does) know that one of my biggest squicks is RPF.

AFF.net's Original archives you can find some pretty damn good stories if you are willing to look a round. Like everything else it suffers from Sturgeon's Law: a lot of stories are terribly cliche'd, some have horrendous grammar, some populated entirely with wangsty sues and stus ( Read more... )

I seem to be suffering from Chapter length creep. I don't know if this is because I naturally want to prefer a chapter length of about 6000 words or if I'm getting wordier and wordier as I go on.

Anyone else have this problem?
