Out of line? Maybe...

I'm curious, not on what the 'vegan' response is, but on each individuals perception of the acceptability of abortion as I feel this and veganism would be closely intertwined? I probably won't respond to any responses, as debates like these tend to get heated, I'm just curious what the majority of vegans here believe in relation to this matter ( Read more... )

pro-choice
because its not my right to choose what someone does to their own body.

i dont care what happens until its sentient.
when it's sentient, i'd call it murder. i still dont really care, but i guess the name of it changes.

if a person is choosing their life over a sentient fetus inside of them, i wouldn't judge. but i would consider it to be murder. i believe murder is acceptable in certain instances.

so on and so forth. hello 1 am!

Most people will argue that abortion is not really a vegan issue. A fetus is not a sentient, independently living, breathing being. Even if it's aborted, it will never go through the prolonged agony, misery, torture, and suffering that any factory-farmed animal goes through ( ... )

Haha, oh man, I'm sorry. I didn't realize it could come across like that. No,
"you" is my "friend" who jumped on me about the chicken thing, not you personally; when I relate stories and get to explaining how I felt towards the other party, I use "you" a lot. Got a little carried away with my wank. :P

You have to try multiple times -- first wait thirty seconds and then try again. Next, wait a minute. Access to LJ memories is always, frustratingly, in flux. It just takes a little persistance to get them on your screen. If you can't access them after five minutes of trying, scoot over to http://status.livejournal.org/ and the support page: http://www.livejournal.com/support/

Updates on any serious issues are posted there. :)

What? I do not think chicken eggs are menstrual cycles. I simply said that if someone wanted to call an egg an 'unborn chicken' it would at least be better if they said 'chicken menstruation.' In a vague sense it is at least a slightly better term to use, even though I know that neither is truly accurate. Okay?

But apparently the point of your comment is to imply you think I'm foolish. Or hypocritical or wrong. One of those, I'd guess.
