Just a quick post to link to Adam's notes on Tokyopop's translation of Furuba vol. 13. It's an interesting read, esp. with the note on some foreshadowing that got lost (which I either didn't notice at the time, or had forgotten about since reading the volume a few months ago). And now I'm faintly depressed about Momiji again.

Writing while I read, since I don't feel like reading in the living room . . .

Rin cover! I love the little "she doesn't like sleeping" note on her "sleeping" image, esp. since she's the first character to look wide-awake for hers. And I've already snarled about the bio they wrote for her, so ( everything else goes under the cut--just some as-I-go notes, since none of this volume really touches on the parts of the series I theorize about )

Word is that Furuba's waiting at the comic store. (Must collect it on our way out to hear a friend play tonight. ^^) *sighs* seangaffney gave me the heads-up that Tokyopop still has the same annoying-as-hell "bio" for Rin. Furuba vol. 12 is in my hands. ^^ Here's a sign of true love--I'm so excited about having it, despite having it in Japanese and having read two translations, that it makes up for nothing else being in (no Death Note 2, no Hot Gimmick, no NANA . . . ). Got vol. 11 of Furuba "finally" (sad to feel "finally" when its street date isn't until next month). Love this volume. Love the moments of Yuki starting to catch on to the fuckedmessed-up dynamic going on between Haru and Rin. Panels here and there of his eyes narrowing in thought. Did indeed find Furuba 10 at the comic store. (Shayla, Wilkie's had at least one other copy when I was there.) ( I like just about everything about this volume (non-specific spoilers for later volumes) )

I've been anticipating this book for a *long* time. Partly because it's when Haru abruptly becomes really, really interesting. Partly because there're so many wonderful things in it: my favorite conversation between Yuki and Aya, the beginning of summer break . . .
