Hormones and Feelings.

Two weeks ago I was told that I could increase my hormone (estrogen) regime from 2mg daily to 4mg. I was also informed that because my T level was already on the low side of average that they wouldn't be considering a T-blocker until they see how the increase has affected me at my next appointment. They told me this because I asked ( Read more... )

my friend sets an alarm on her phone to go off at 11am and 11pm for her pills. maybe that will make it easier for you? you can choose other times if it works better for you, but maybe that will help keep you a little more balanced over the day than taking it all at once.

I have an alarm set for my one evening "dinner dose" just to remind me but I sometimes take it a little before the alarm. Trouble with having a morning schedule is trusting I'd be awake as I tend to sleep* a lot right now and I know I'd probably just switch the alarm off and roll over!

* or keep strange hours with my sleep patterns!

I think maybe you should set an alarm to remind you to take them, and then have something with them, like a snack or a smoothie? I dunno.

As for the shift in reality, I did experience something a bit like that when I started on T. I think part of it was euphoria at finally getting hormones, and part of it was my body adjusting. I couldn't say for sure though- I'm not a professional.

Possibly 4mg/day is just enough to make a significant difference to your T production. If this is the case things should settle down soon.

I notionally take my E morning and evening as the half life is about 16 hours.

I wouldn't worry too much about ODing on it as excess is just pee'd out. I take 4mg twice a day, so double what you are on. Also, I've taken 20mg in one day with no ill effect. I would expect long term that at that level the risks of the nastier side-effects (like DVT) are greatly increased.

As in all things medicinal, what works for me may not work for you.

"Things seem sharper, brighter and a little unreal. Things feel intangible to the touch sometimes. Sounds sound louder"

I had that exact reaction when I first started T, though it only lasted a day. When I posted about it on LJ, people said it sounded like regular excitement, albeit an intense case of it. Other people suggested it could be my body being in shock from the sudden change in hormonal levels, so I guess that's a possibility too.

As for food - pre-T I was rarely hungry, now I can't stop eating. So I guess the opposite would happen on E?
