For those who might not be aware, yesterday my first and one of my dearest friends in Maryland died. Punk was seriously one of the sweetest and gentlest cats I have ever known and my heart aches with grief over this loss. I loved him and will miss him so, so much.

Lily at 3
On Friday, Lilian turned 3. I still can't believe it! I think she's gone from a toddler to a preschooler and I don't like it. I mean, I do, but I don't.

and tomorrow there will be 4
Tomorrow is my induction for our second baby. I wasn't as excited this time around, but apparently that's pretty normal. I also had a REALLY rough pregnancy, which was hard to handle after Lilian's super easy one. I was hoping not to go down the induction road again but it is what it is. Just a short while ago, my former brother-in-law, and father to 10 year old Ciara and 8 year old Molly, succumbed to his brain tumor. I first posted about it here: traceracer.livejournal.com/417856.html

Lilian's 2 year appointment
Today was Lilian's 2 year well baby appointment.
The bad: Normally when she gets shots, she cries for about 10 seconds and is good. Not today. Two shots and wailing for what felt like 5 hours (but was probably really 5 minutes). Then she had to have a blood draw for her 2 year old lead test, which also caused lots of pain and screaming. My mom and ( Read more... ) -

Tonight I had to run to Safeway to buy some more cupcake liners for Lilian's birthday playdate celebration. As I grabbed them and began hurrying toward the checkout (since the first batch of cupcakes were in the oven), I started crying. Like seriously, honest to god crying. Is she worse for the wear after all?
Around 5pm today, Lilian started vomiting. She woke from her nap very very cranky so we gave her a popcicle, thinking maybe her lip from yesterday's fall was bothering her. That and a tea party with mommy seemed to cheer her up. Then, about an hour later, she vomited all over. Josh brought her upstairs, cleaned her up, and cuddled for a bit while ( Read more... ) -
Biggest injury to date
Today I feel awful. I'd say I feel like a horrible mother, but in reality I'm actually a pretty good mother so I won't cheapen that (though I often do by flippantly saying I'm a horrible mother). However, Lilian suffered an injury while on my watch. And it could have been prevented if I had been more careful, which makes it all the worse ( Read more... )
