Summary: Yuri got reminded of Yuma and as always Yamada was there for him.
Yuri tried his best. He did all he could to stop thinking about Yuma. He tried to forget about him, to forget about all the memories they had, all the sweet moments they shared.
He had packed his stuff and kept all things that made him remember Yuma into a box and hid it under the bed.
He would lock those memories away and focus on his life. He knew the other JUMP members were worried about him. They had showed him their concern from time to time and especially Yuto and Yamada. They were always there for him when he needed someone. They would comfort him and tell him everything's all right.
He's really grateful to them and he felt fortunate to be included in this big family. He loved each and every one of them but none could be compared to the love he had for Yuma.
Yuma had been something else. The special one for Yuri.
He had gave Yuri all the first experiences that he could possibly have in his life. He love Yuma. So much that it hurt him when he left that day. That day when he's gone from Yuri's life.
The pain is still there and he's healing.
The wound in his heart is covering up but it's still raw and bare. One touch and it'll tear apart again.
Yuri want that pain to stop, he want to stop feeling sad, to get rid of his feelings for Yuma and he worked hard for it.
He made himself tired everyday, so tired that he won't have time to think about Yuma. So tired that he'll fall asleep right away as soon as his head touched the pillow.
He worked himself hard, he practice the dance steps over and over again, cramming his head with them and pushing Yuma away from his mind.
The others watched as he did so and they all felt their heart break for him.
They could see his effort and it hurt them so much. Someone like Yuri doesn't deserve this pain. What he deserve is happiness and laughter in his laugh. Not pain and sadness overwhelming him.
Yuri had worked hard and he thought it was working, he thought he could forget Yuma but the truth is, he's lying to himself.
Yuri sat in front of the couch and switched on the tv. He was alone in the living room. The others were either in their rooms or out having fun with their friends. It doesn't matter. He needed to be alone too. He flipped through the channels and stopped at one channel.
It was showing the credits of the drama. Another one will be up soon. The theme song played and Yuri froze. He recognise the song, he knew it by heart. It was Yuma's drama. He had watched it with Yuma plenty of times, teasing him of his acting skills and how cool he looked inside.
Yuri stared at the screen as Yuma appeared. His voice. His face. He missed it all. Yuri wanted to run away from the tv, to run away from the pain it's causing him but he can't. He stayed frozen in his seat and watched Yuma act his role in the drama.
He didn't move for the 1 hour the drama was aired.
The drama ended and finally Yuri switched the tv off. Climbing up the stairs, he opened the door to their room. Yamada was reading on his bed and he looked up at Yuri when he entered. immediately he sensed that something is wrong.
He could tell from Yuri's expression. He could feel it. Yuri had this aura around him.
He put down his book and got up, walking to Yuri.
He didn't say anything but simply stood there in front of him.
Yuri looked up at him, about to cry.
"Yama-chan.."
That's all he said as he went closer to him. He leaned forward and placed his head against Yamada's shoulder.
Yamada didn't say anything as he just stood there, allowing Yuri to do what he was doing.
Yuri started crying and the tears fell to the ground.
"Doushita?"
Yamada's voice was soft and gentle to Yuri's ear and he shook his head slightly.
No need to ask. Yamada knew. Yuma. There's only one person in this world that could make Yuri become like this. One small thing that's related to him and it would trigger Yuri's sadness, making him cry.
Yamada lifted his hand and placed it on Yuri's head. Stroking him gently.
Yuri extended his arms and hugged Yamada tight, burying his face in his chest.
He needed the warmth. The comfort to cover up the coldness in his heart. To soothe the pain he's feeling. The wound is torn apart once again and he's bleeding inside.
Yamada's arms wrapped around Yuri as he pat Yuri's back. Yuri slid his hands down and tightened it around Yamada's waist.
His tears fell onto Yamada's shirt and made a wet patch on his shoulder but Yamada didn't mind.
Yuri needed him and he'll be there for him. He'll always be.
Even though he knew that he's not the one that Yuri needed the most but if he could help, if he could help just a little, it's enough.
He hugged Yuri back tight as he continued to pat his back, giving him the comfort he needs.
Yuri pushed himself away from Yamada when he finally stopped crying.
"Arigatou ne, Yama-chan."
Yamada smiled at him and that warm Yuri's heart more.
Maybe, maybe he should just stop loving Yuma and start to love Yamada.
Yamada has always been by his side. Always there for him when he needed him. Always listening to his rantings, his complaints and everything that he had to say to him.
Yamada would always give him his smile, the warm smile that made his heart feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Yamada would be there for him and so is he now.
Maybe.. Yuri thought.
But how?
He couldn't control his feelings. He know he still love Yuma and that can't be erased.
He needs time.
Yamada patted his head as he walked past him to his bed.
Yuri smiled slightly.
Yamada took off his shirt and changed into another clean and dry one and threw the other in the laundry basket.
Yuri climbed into his bed and covered the blankets over him.
"Sleeping already?"
"Mmm.."
Yamada smiled and went over to him and sat down on his bed. He pulled the blanket down from Yuri's head and stroke Yuri's face gently.
"Oyasumi Chii."
Yuri gave him a soft smile and closed his eyes.
And like every night, Yamada stayed by his side until he slept. Yamada would only sleep when he was sure Yuri is. Every night he would kiss Yuri softly on his forehead before he get into his bed.
Yuri wouldn't know of course, he would be fast asleep by that time but it doesn't matter to Yamada.
He like to watch Yuri sleep. The only time when his face would reveal the child inside him and the peaceful look. The only time when Yuri wouldn't be crying and showing the pain he's feeling.
"I love you Chii.."
Yamada whispered it gently and Yuri heard it. He was about to drift off to sleep but he heard that whisper clearly.
His heart thumped faster. Did he hear him correctly?
Did Yamada just say he love him? Yuri couldn't be sure. It could probably be him imagining things.
He kept his eyes closed and felt Yamada's hands on his cheeks, stroking them softly. He liked how his hands feel against his skin. It's nice and comforting, very relaxing and that made Yuri slowly drift off to sleep once again.
Yamada got up and kissed Yuri on his forehead and turned off the lights.
Yuri felt the kiss for the first time. The gently touch of Yamada's lips on his forehead.
He didn't think much about it, his brain all fuzzy and with sleep overcoming him, he didn't think more about it and finally slept.
