The students head home for the 4th of July break tomorrow. It's been a really long period of time to do this very intense job. I was fairly excited for this weekend. I like spending time with Stoney and Dustin and Laura (though I don't know Laura that well she has a good personality). So last night I explained the joys of our huge 'night off'. The opposite of that is being on duty. There is only one person on duty any given night for boys and a separate one for girls. All duty really entails is: leaving the event of the evening as soon as it gets over at 9 (except Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays), taking the campussed students ( Read more... )

Now, 'day off' is a little misleading. For those of you who don't know I do a lot more than teach a class or tutor some students here. We get up around 7:30 and go eat breakfast. After some drama in the dorm this evening (and some of it was well founded drama) I am left tired and a little cranky. The rest of the staff had best hope I feel better tomorrow.

For a few minutes it looked like I would be one of the first of the late-night group to turn in tonight, which would have been a rarity indeed. I had already left the lounge to go put away my laundry from last night and pack my back for tomorrow. Then I decided to take my laptop out to the lounge and update my journal.
