Denzel was laid on his bed with Rex - well, more accurately he was half laid on the bed and half out of the open window. His arms were dangling outside, his chin resting on the window sill as he sulked.

His missed Eiko. He understood why Cloud and Tifa were mad, of course he did, and having Cloud get mad at him was the worst feeling ever. He let out a heavy sigh. Being grounded sucked. It was so boring.

It was time to take Rex for a walk. Being grounded, Marlene and Denzel couldn't do it, so Tifa was taking her turn to search for the dog. He wasn't outside or anywhere in the house that she'd looked... Denzel's room was the only place left.

Tifa knocked on the door, just in case he didn't want to be disturbed. "Denzel? Is Rex in there?"

At the sound of the knock Denzel flopped his arms back inside the room and rolled over the bed to his feet, dragging his feet towards with the kind of stomp that only a sulking almost-9 year old can manage.

He opened the door, pouting. "Yeah... Rex is in here..." He called the dog over to the door. "Are you taking him away?"

Denzel had been sulking. Big surprise. Tifa nodded, choosing not to comment on his obvious bad temper. "I need to take him out on a walk. It's okay, we won't be long."

She gestured for Rex to come to her. "Here, boy. Time for a walk!"

Being grounded sucked. There was nothing to do! Marlene was so bored. Currently, she was sliding lower and lower on the chair she was sitting on, arms splayed over the arms. A rather large pout was on her face. She was staring off into space in the living room.

"So... bored..."

Marlene's pout could make the sternest of parents melt. So Tifa had to do her very best to ignore it when she came downstairs, passing by Marlene on her way into the kitchen.

Don't give in to the kids. This was very important.

She sunk lower and lower, sighing each time. By the time her feet actually touched the ground, her sighs were loud enough to be heard in the kitchen. She finally scooted herself back up, then pulled her feet up, flipping herself around until her head hung off the seat. Maybe looking at everything upside down would be better.

Nope. She sighed again. "Tifa... how long are we grounded for? This is so boring!"

Tifa came over to the doorway, frowning at Marlene. "Two weeks. That's what we agreed."

It had only been three days so far, and already the children were sighing and pouting. It was going to be a long fortnight.

It hadn't taken long for Aerith to find Tifa and Cloud's home; it had been within walking distance, which was convenient. Having friends so close was a comfort. She was still adjusting to living in Gaia and realizing that what had been so important when she left their own planet would have to wait until she could return.

The day had been bright and quiet, and with a bit of her own decision, Aerith had left her own home-- it seemed like home, for sure-- and headed to see if anyone else was home nearby. She lifted her hand toward the knocking loudly enough to be heard in the house but not so much to be annoying.

Tifa heard the distant knocking at the door and went to answer it. She hadn't been expecting anyone in particular, so she got quite the surprise when she saw who her visitor was.

"Aerith! It's great to see you again."

It wasn't quite the shocked reaction she'd had the first time meeting Aerith in person. Tifa had grown used to seeing Aerith alive and well since then. But still, it always gave her heart a pang. She wondered if this Aerith knew what had happened to her...

Aerith gave her a bright smile, completely unaware of any bad memory seeing her would bring up for Tifa. Her hand lowers from it's knocking position in front of her. "You weren't busy, were you? It was quiet at home so I thought I'd come visit."

"No, not at all. Come in."

Tifa opened the door, gesturing for Aerith to step through. Even if she had been busy, she would have dropped it all for Aerith anyway. This was the first time Tifa had seen her friend in person since she had reappeared.

"Do you want to come sit in the garden?" Tifa asked. "It's really nice out."
