It hadn't taken long for Aerith to find Tifa and Cloud's home; it had been within walking distance, which was convenient. Having friends so close was a comfort. She was still adjusting to living in Gaia and realizing that what had been so important when she left their own planet would have to wait until she could return.

The day had been bright and quiet, and with a bit of her own decision, Aerith had left her own home-- it seemed like home, for sure-- and headed to see if anyone else was home nearby. She lifted her hand toward the knocking loudly enough to be heard in the house but not so much to be annoying.

Tifa heard the distant knocking at the door and went to answer it. She hadn't been expecting anyone in particular, so she got quite the surprise when she saw who her visitor was.

"Aerith! It's great to see you again."

It wasn't quite the shocked reaction she'd had the first time meeting Aerith in person. Tifa had grown used to seeing Aerith alive and well since then. But still, it always gave her heart a pang. She wondered if this Aerith knew what had happened to her...

Aerith gave her a bright smile, completely unaware of any bad memory seeing her would bring up for Tifa. Her hand lowers from it's knocking position in front of her. "You weren't busy, were you? It was quiet at home so I thought I'd come visit."

"No, not at all. Come in."

Tifa opened the door, gesturing for Aerith to step through. Even if she had been busy, she would have dropped it all for Aerith anyway. This was the first time Tifa had seen her friend in person since she had reappeared.

"Do you want to come sit in the garden?" Tifa asked. "It's really nice out."

Aerith stepped over the threshold into the house, making no attempt to hide herself looking around what she could see of the house from that point. It was nice and felt homey for sure. She turned her attention back to Tifa, her smile still bright and now filled with excitement.

"You planted a garden? I'd love to see it."

"With your help," said Tifa, smiling. "You have a flower shop here too; did Zack tell you that? Cloud and I have been taking care of it for you."

She walked over to sit in the same chair she'd been relaxing in before. If Aerith looked, she might notice a ginger and black kitten trying to catch a butterfly out on the lawn.

"Zidane told me about it, but I'm glad to know you two were taking care of it for me." she responded, following Tifa out into the garden.

Aerith moved ahead of the chairs, going out to inspect the flora and how well Tifa and Cloud had been upkeeping it. It was relaxing and refreshing to see life flowing so freely from the grounds. She turned in the direction of the kitten, giggling a little at its antics.

"You really have settled down here, haven't you? It's nice Tifa. Comfortable."

Tifa nodded, though her expression flickered just a little when Aerith mentioned settling down. On the one hand, she didn't mind it; everything Aerith had said was true, and back home she would never have had the chance to talk to Aerith again. But on the other hand, she still ached to be back in her own world. How long had it been since she'd last spoken to Barret? Much too long.

"Did you say Zidane?" she asked. "The king of Alexandria?"

"Yes, that's him~ He told me not to bother calling majesty, so I guess he'll always just be Zidane to me." Aerith responded, smiling a bit before she walked over to take a seat near Tifa. "He picked me up in Treno and flew me to see whats left of Midgar before dropping me off in Lindblum."

She stretched out a bit in the seat before leaning over the arm rest, getting closer to Tifa in the process, as if she were about to ask a secret. Which, in a way, she was.

"So, does this mean you and Cloud...?"

"That's very kind of him," Tifa replied, blinking. It was odd to think of a king of all people dropping everything just to go and pick up a girl he probably didn't even know.

Aerith's next question distracted her from thinking too much about it though. Tifa blushed slightly, but couldn't help smiling. "...Yes."

And she held up her hand to reveal a sparkling engagement ring.

Aerith's eyes widened a bit, both out of a mixture of surprise and happiness for her friends. It was true she had feelings for Cloud, mixed in a strong haze to his resemblance to Zack, and yet oddly enough there was no pang of jealousy or wonder of how things had developed to that point in the future. She had been more than happy to find Zack in Gaia, finding herself still tied to deeply within her heart.

Instead of teasing Tifa, as she would have normally done, or bringing up any sense of competition, Aerith reached forward to take a hold of her hand and inspect the ring, a widely bright smile flashing over her face as she looked at it.

"Tifa, it's beautiful! Congratulations to both of you." her hands clasped around Tifa's excitedly, face flowing upward to glance into her friends slightly flushed and smiling face. "You're going to let me do the flowers for the wedding, right?"

"Thank you," said Tifa, her smile widening at Aerith's reaction. It did feel really nice to see Aerith's delight all over again. This was something she didn't mind repeating. "And of course I am!" she said. "You're the only one who could do it. And you'll be my maid of honour too, right?"

"Of course! You don't have to ask me that." she said, shaking the hand in her hold. "I'd love to. That means I have to organize your wedding shower and bachelorette party too, right~?"

"Well, I wouldn't want to put you to any trouble. I mean, you have only just got here."

Tifa was very happy that Aerith had offered though. They had been occupied with so many other things that she'd simply not had time to plan anything herself - and it didn't help that she could never be sure whether anyone might vanish at any moment.

"It's not any trouble, Tifa. It's for you, right? Did you guys pick a date yet? We can plan together so it's not too much on either one of us." she shifted a bit in her seat, leaning more forward.

Tifa smiled at Aerith's eagerness, leaning forward too. She remembered long evenings in bars and inns, where the pair of them had put their heads together and chatted for hours. Aerith always made her feel like she could achieve anything.

She nodded. "I'd like that. And we haven't picked an exact date yet... We were thinking some time in the winter."

That was about as far as they'd got. With Cloud mute, dragons attacking and people disappearing, they hadn't had much time to sit down and plan a wedding. Not to mention, Tifa had been reluctant to set a date anyway, still clinging on to the hope that they would all find a way home soon.
