So if the Dementors have left Azkaban, does this mean that, while still a prison and not such a fun or clean place to be, it is not a place where your soul is sucked out of you?

Would it be just a plain 'ol dirty prison now?

If this addressed in canon, any quotes would be lovely! If it's not, any personal speculation is, of course, most helpful.
