Question for anyone that watches The CW in HD

I was really upset to find that this week my normally 16:9 HD Smallville and Supernatural were letterboxed this week (and partially last week). I believe it may have been was broadcast in 4:3 instead of 16:9.

Has anyone in any city noticed The CW letterboxing programs it used to feed in 16:9 or is this a local syndicate problem for me?

Any info is appreciated before I call up KTLA very, very angry tomorrow.
