Beautiful Day!
The sun is shining, the birds are singing & I've just spent a lovely hour printing linocuts onto Emily Dickinson poetry, French history (in French), music scores & Korean, Chinese & Vietnamese newspaper.
I've been thinking a lot lately about the images I create only being part of the story, so printing on text adds another layer of storytelling. It ( Read more... ) -

I now have a new blog for my work & the work of others that I admire Scathingly Brilliant Ideas I'm planning on moving all my Light And Shade branded things over to Scathingly Brilliant so that it's more cohesive.
Light And Shade seemed like such a clever name for an art business; until you try searching the phrase on google!

Birthday Musings (no, it's not my birthday yet)
I'm wondering what I should do for my birthday this year? I'm turning 40, which is I guess a noteworthy year, us humans being a bit obsessed with the multipes of ten. Birthdays have never been big in my family of origin though (ie; I have a twin brother & we don't even wish each other happy birthday, our last real party was when we were in grade ( Read more... ) -

Utopia!
Over Easter, we (dominie70 & I, plus our 2 lovely passengers) made the 2,000 odd km trip up to rainbowfish7 & muchfree 's place in Queensland, camped out (first time ever for me), met many awesome people, shared in our friends' collaring ceremony, reconnected with ourselves & each other & generally had an amazing time!

Thinking Out Loud
I seem to have boxed myself into a particularly tricky corner with this looking for work plan. Since every job has the standard resume/interview format attached, I have to re do my resume. Can I find any of my old ones...no, can I even recall when I did most of my jobs...no, is the work I did 15 or 20 years ago even going to matter to HR people ( Read more... )
