Birthday Musings (no, it's not my birthday yet)

I'm wondering what I should do for my birthday this year?  I'm turning 40, which is I guess a noteworthy year, us humans being a bit obsessed with the multipes of ten.  Birthdays have never been big in my family of origin though (ie; I have a twin brother & we don't even wish each other happy birthday, our last real party was when we were in grade 2 & invited the whole class), so birthday parties just leave me a bit bemused.  Last year we had an awesome gathering at our house, which was a blast even if the idea stressed me out so much I nearly called the whole thing off at the last moment.  I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to celebrate the fact that I have not yet died.

I love good food, burlesque, music (except country & screamo), tea parties, reading, strong women, style, art & history.  I dislike dancing(because I can't do it), music that's too loud to talk over & sports.

Should I do the country weekend again (bearing in mind that August is generally cold & wet); do something different at our place; go out with a group somewhere in Melbourne; hibernate; other?  Suggestions welcome, the crazier the better; if I'm going to celebrate, it may as well be different!
