{WATCHTOWER} // slayerdom September 12 2011, 01:21:11 UTC
As the group that had been identified as those who'd be taking part in Watchtower gathered in front of her at the weapons shed, Buffy set her vibro-axe down at her side, leaning it against the doorjamb and giving it a rest. There was less to be done with rallying the troops here -- she could count on them to take care of themselves and handle their own thing because, well--

"Let's face it. You guys know way more than me about just about anything that has an 'on' button. So, you know what you're doing and how to do it. I don't need to hold your hand and embarrass all of us. But, what I can do is tell you what I need you to do. You can figure out the hows all on your own." She crossed her arms over her chest, leaning back against the shipping container casually ( ... )

[Andrew raises his hand.] It also lowers her chances of being, um, violently cut in half.

[Awkward shifting] Not that.... That's ever happened before. It's just a concern.

[Anya looks annoyed.] I'd like to not get violently cut in half. And I understand technology just fine, you know, I may have been born a millennium ago but I have been living in present times since present times started. Honestly.

Anya, what they're doing is a little beyond the level of "just fine." I understand it just fine too, and I couldn't do it.

While she addressed the team that was going to go in with her to her warehouse, Buffy kept a straight face -- which, y'know, was tough, all things considered. Especially what with Spike and Riley making with the dagger eyes. And both of them in general being around her. But, she managed, and she passed out weapons to those who hadn't already brought some while she spoke ( ... )

[Natasha just offers a small, idle salute in the face of the orders.] Not a problem.

[Zekk nods, the palm of his hand resting on top of the lightsaber clipped on his belt as he side-eyes Spike a little bit.

Well.

It could be worse.

It could be Kyp Durron.]

[Spike nods, glancing back at his team members. Is it just him or is Zekk not particularly pleased to be placed with him? Spike doesn't really know the kid, so it doesn't bother him, but it's something to keep in mind.]

We'll get it done.

The warehouse two group was, at least, a little smaller than the last one. And by now she'd done this before. So, while she explained to them the dangers and the mission, she passed out weapons like a pro -- to anyone who didn't have one already, of course. And she made sure to hook Varric up with that bowcaster that he worked miracles with ( ... )

[Hawke is just going to pause for a moment. V. srs thinking happening here.] --I am correct in assuming Marian is me, yes? [Because she seriously needs to double check, people use it that rarely]

[ That gets a smile and Buffy nods, looking lightly apologetic. ] Yeah. Sorry, I -- There are a lot of Hawkes on this planet. First names, generally the safer choice.

Oh believe me, I know all about the abundance of Hawkes. There are more Hawkes in this world than in my world. If you like, you can give us numbers. [Wandering over to look at some of those weapons *u* And picking out something ridiculously heavy and sword shaped.] Now this is something I could get used to. [She hefts it, testing its weight] Lightsabers are all well and good, but sometimes you just want something with a little weight behind it.

{ALL / GENERAL MINGLING} // slayerdom September 12 2011, 01:24:51 UTC
Before Buffy started her debriefing -- which, let's be honest, was more like a long speech than anything else, people were filtering in and grouping off. They arrived in groups, they arrived alone, the point was that they were slowly arriving into this emptied apartment building's basement. It wasn't the classiest of meeting points, but it was effective.

And while they waited for everything to start, they were mingling. Getting to know one another, figuring things out, making plans, talking shop. It didn't matter. What matter was that they were together and they were ready.

------

And once Buffy's speech was finished, there was more mingling to be done. Grouping off, team leaders talking to their crews about how they wanted things done. Testing trust barriers, wading through those very touchy waters to make sure they all knew what they were getting into and who they were getting into it with. They had a little time before the sun set, which meant a little time before they had to move and get into position.

[Axel had listened to the whole speech. She was good at this, he had to admit. He was unsure if he could rightly call himself 'brave' when he was physically incapable of feeling fear to start with, but he wasn't about to turn down a compliment.

He was also uncertain why exactly he was here, other than out of a desire to finally do something. What was he fighting for? He thought for a moment.]

~To take these guys down. Because it takes a special, subterrainian level of LOW to plant a bomb in a children's hospital and create and set loose a planet-wide plague.~

[Admittedly, it was unclear to Axel whether the 'planet-wide' aspect had been intentional or not, but still...]

~And to make Emer Ikuh shut the hell up.[Well, no one said they had to be selfless reasons ( ... )

[Flynn nodded slightly at Axel. He was here, too.] I'll be in your watchtower. If there are questions, I'll be on it.

[Axel nods, giving a slightly grim smile.] A fact that I'm sure both Tron and I are grateful for, I'm sure. [He really is pleased to know that he can trust the guy who's going to be directing them. Especially since he's already proven by Axel that he's good at providing direction.

Less snarky, more sincere.] By the way, thanks for hooking me up.
