I'm working like a maniac. A coworker went to Ireland and I'm filling in some shifts, plus I've added an extra workday to my week now that school's over. Also, my portions have been smaller, I've taken my time eating the food I do eat and I've cut out the eating I used to do because I was bored.
Yes, those are all things that I've found have helped me get me eating more under control as well. Eating more reasonable portions (at restaurants, sometimes I get a takeout container right at the start and put half of my meal in there, if I know it's going to be more than I want to eat in one sitting) definitely helps. And distracting myself with other entertaining things helps curtail boredom-induced eating.
Oddly enough, the less I eat junk the less I want to eat junk.Yes. I find that just as junk food can be habit-forming, so can healthy food. The more I get used to eating stuff that is actually good for me, the less good junk food tastes when I do have it, and the more I notice that it doesn't make me feel good afterwards.
