It was good to be here. Thad tried not to be on edge as the crowd milled around him, bumping at him and Harley from all sides. He was getting used to being at home in crowds again, and this was a crowd he'd never been able to join before. Wasn't like he could've been out as bi with the gang he and Harley had run with in DC. Couldn't exactly risk that. It was different now, though.

He could be whatever he wanted.

When he'd mentioned seeing a flyer to Harley, he hadn't expected her to join him, but he was glad she had.

"Dude, I should've worn something crazier," she said, grinning as she looked around and someone in a sequined bikini danced past them.

"You fit right in," Thad said, smirking at her black denim mini and white tank top she'd decorated for the occasion. There were temporary red and green streaks in her hair, which made him laugh because she hadn't done anything like that since they were teenagers.

"No, you fit right in," she said with a grin, "I'm just the sister ( ... )

For all of his years of knowing his preferences and being in the Metroplex, Brendon had never gone to a Pride parade. It wasn't as though he wasn't proud, he was, it was just that work had always gotten in the way or his self imposed other tasks and hobbies had. As with other parts of his life, the constant gym visits, the insomnia, the constant work schedule, that had all changed when he met Rico and they started dating ( ... )

Pride was definitely something. Rico wasn't entirely sure what, but it was something. People were dressed in all sorts of costumes and wearing things he thought would be more at home on a club dance floor, but there were also people dressed like him, in jeans and shirts without bright colors and rainbows and glitter. Brendon seemed to enjoy it, but Rico was a little overwhelmed by the crowd, the noise, and the colors.

"Right." Rico returned the squeeze to his hand and smiled. Even if this was a lot to take in, he knew it was time to do this. He was glad that Lupe had agreed to come with them, though, if only to keep him from getting into fights should someone try to start shit with them. "Definitely loud and bright."

Lupe'd never been to anything like this before, but she was thrilled that Rico had invited her, and there was no way she was missing it. They'd come a long way from the awkward partnership they'd started with, and she knew it was a big deal that he'd mentioned it to her.

Not that she hadn't secretly been pulling for Rico and Brendon all along.

"Yeah, I have to agree." She grinned as they made their way through the crowd, dressed in jeans and a sparkly tank top that she imagined looked pretty dull compared to everyone here. She kept half an eye on everyone around them in case anyone started trouble, because she couldn't turn off the cop in her, but she was prepared to have a good time. She glanced at each of them in turn. "And you two look happy."

Robert was attempting to show Riley his version of the running man when he bumped into someone. He reached out to steady her and then flushed, skin hot and bright red, as he saw it was the cop from the comic book store that he'd made a completely inappropriate joke to. "Um, hi! Nice to see you again! Told you I'd figure out something even more inappropriate to say or do?" he said with a sheepish smile. "I'm so sorry. I was trying to dance which is always, always a bad idea. Riley could tell you that and has told me that at least twenty times today alone." He gestured towards Riley, taking his hands away from, um, what was her name? Lupe? Maybe?

Blaise was there in the crowds, Pride was one of the few events that he tried never to miss, no matter where he was. He was wearing his awesome new t-shirt that he'd gotten from Drew along one of his favorite scarves on top of what Wendy called his skinny twink jeans and his bright orange Converse.

He'd been holding up signs and dancing and having a really awesome time. He loved Pride. He looked over to one side and thought he'd spotted someone he knew so he walked over that way.

Drew has tried to attend Pride whenever he could, but sometimes it wasn't an option. He was glad to be sorta settled by the time this one rolled around and he was doubly glad for the t-shirt that Jake had given him. The joke was two-fold and it had been a great hit at the office when he wore it the week before.

He was walking along wearing his sinfully tight jeans that looked painted on and comfortable shoes (bitter experience taught him that biker boots does not make for good marching)when he spotted a familiar figure in jeans as tight as his own, bright orange Converse, the t-shirt he had picked out and a scarf.

"Blaise!" he called out and made his way over, catching the younger man in a hug in a moment of sponteneity. "Great to see you here," he said as he slung an arm over the writer's shoulders.

Blaise looked over and his smile brightened as he saw who was hugging him. "Drew!" He greeted before bursting into laughter when he saw the other man's shirt. "That's a hilarious t-shirt, man." It really really was. Blaise was tempted to go and find one like it to send to his father, who would probably laugh hysterically and then wear it to work just to see the faces of some of the actors and actresses he worked with.

...but then his Papa would never let him hear the end of it. Still. Might be worth the three hour long conversation on this is why we don't indulge your father's crazy, Blaise Daniel Zimmerman. Do you not remember Montreal? Or Newfoundland? He could just hear it now. Still. Probably worth it.

"Good to see you too, man. It's my first Metroplex Pride, and I gotta say it's pretty sweet." He'd done the ones in New York and Boston and once in San Francisco (that had been an Experience and a half), he'd been looking forward to the Dallas-Fort Worth one. "How's everything going?"

Drew laughed with Blaise. "Blame Jake for it - he gave it to me for my birthday. At least I didn't have to explain the double meaning to Star yet." He smiled. "Glad you like the shirt," he commented. "And the shoes go perfectly with it."

Drew nodded. "Mine too. I've only been to Pittburgh and once in San Fransisco. That one I was wearing something more... how can I put it... revealing." He grinned at that - he was wearing boots, some very skimpy hotpants and a smile. It had left very little to the imagination. "I'm sure its going to be a total blast."

The colors were amazing. Ty had been going to Pride events in Fort Worth for years, since he moved to town, really. He never got tired of seeing people relax and have fun and just be outrageous. It was a beautiful day, and the crowd was bigger than it had been last year, which had been bigger than the year before and so on. It felt good to see how people were getting more comfortable celebrating their pride instead of feeling a need to hide it just because some people didn't approve or accept them ( ... )

As it was business as usual, Alex was dressed in work clothes, choosing a waistcoat over a suit jacket today. His concession (and a good one he thought) was the luridly rainbow tie he'd found in a thrift store a while back.

He saw Ty hard at work, looking perfect as ever, and he came over, wrapping an arm around his waist and kissing his neck, spluttering when he came away with glitter.

"Babe, as much as I love you in this den of crazy, you don't taste awesome with glitter on you." He said, grinning as he wiped his mouth off.

"You'd better be my boyfriend or else someone's getting a punch in the nose," Ty said, lowering his camera as someone kissed his neck. He could smell Alex, fortunately, so he was just teasing. The fact that he knew Alex's smell wasn't something he planned to examine too much.

"I always taste awesome, glittered or not." Ty turned his head and kissed Alex. "Mmm. You're always delicious. Did you get the table set up for the water? Think there'll be plenty of people who will want a bottle, even if it feels pretty good right now."

Alex kissed back, tempted to put on a bit of a show given where they were, but really, that was for people who needed to show off.

"Yep, got it all set. Even brought one for a sexy photographer who's going to get sunburnt if he isn't careful." He held out the bottle with the rainbow logo next to information about Angel Abbey. "Did I need to bring sunblock as well?"

Having to man a water stand at Pride was pretty much the worst. Audrey wanted to be closer to the floats and be able to walk around with everyone, see everything. She fully intended to once Cal or some of the bar staff showed up to help out, though, so this would do for now ( ... )

"It's almost like New York!" Alice leaned over to laugh close to her ear, bright grin on her face as they both took in the much larger crowd than they'd been expecting. They'd even both worn the shirts they'd gotten years ago before the first march in D.C. with Rick and Liam, though neither had known until they both came downstairs. "We should send pictures to Rick -- have him compare with the ones we went to!" She giggled, straightening when a woman bumped into her, as Carrie gave her a grin in return. "You wanna go grab some water?" Slinging an arm around her shoulder, Alice pointed to a table on the side currently manned by a blonde woman in a rainbow shirt. "Tossed ours out ages ago, and I feel like a camel with all the water I've been drinking ( ... )

Audrey had a face full of glitter that she was trying to deal with, but she grinned at the newcomers as she dusted off her cheeks and wiped her hands on a towel.

"Muse is definitely one of the cool places." She grinned and handed them two waters from the cooler that were dripping with condensation but nice and cold. "We're off 7th, and we specialize in all-purpose entertainment. You could come see a show, or a movie, or come dance at the nightclub and hear live music. I DJ there. And I ramble a lot. I'm Audrey."

She held out a hand. "Sorry about the glitter. And you two look way too alike to be a couple. Sisters?"

Gratefully accepting the bottle, she mentally said "to hell" with waiting and cracked it open, taking a long pull. She flashed the woman another smile. "Texas summers -- I'm new to them. Guess I picked the wrong one to move down in. Or maybe the right one, so that I can impress all the locals with how I can survive anything after this." She looked at Carrie, trying to place it in her head. "Seventh ( ... )
