"It's almost like New York!" Alice leaned over to laugh close to her ear, bright grin on her face as they both took in the much larger crowd than they'd been expecting. They'd even both worn the shirts they'd gotten years ago before the first march in D.C. with Rick and Liam, though neither had known until they both came downstairs. "We should send pictures to Rick -- have him compare with the ones we went to!" She giggled, straightening when a woman bumped into her, as Carrie gave her a grin in return. "You wanna go grab some water?" Slinging an arm around her shoulder, Alice pointed to a table on the side currently manned by a blonde woman in a rainbow shirt. "Tossed ours out ages ago, and I feel like a camel with all the water I've been drinking."

At Carrie's nod and answering arm around her waist, they swerved out of the way of several tall men in...interesting get-up, and headed for the table. As they drew closer, Alice tilted her head, looking at the logo she saw on the bottles. "So, what's Muse?" She smiled broadly at the woman behind the table. "New to town, so I'm still learning all the cool places."

Audrey had a face full of glitter that she was trying to deal with, but she grinned at the newcomers as she dusted off her cheeks and wiped her hands on a towel.

"Muse is definitely one of the cool places." She grinned and handed them two waters from the cooler that were dripping with condensation but nice and cold. "We're off 7th, and we specialize in all-purpose entertainment. You could come see a show, or a movie, or come dance at the nightclub and hear live music. I DJ there. And I ramble a lot. I'm Audrey."

She held out a hand. "Sorry about the glitter. And you two look way too alike to be a couple. Sisters?"

Gratefully accepting the bottle, she mentally said "to hell" with waiting and cracked it open, taking a long pull. She flashed the woman another smile. "Texas summers -- I'm new to them. Guess I picked the wrong one to move down in. Or maybe the right one, so that I can impress all the locals with how I can survive anything after this." She looked at Carrie, trying to place it in her head. "Seventh."

"I know where it is," Carrie nodded, moving her arm from around Alice's waist so she could open her own bottle and take a sip. "Been meaning to go, but the friends I promised I'd go with have had a hard time matching their free time to mine." She nudged her shoulder to her sister's. "We should go, though." Giving the blonde a curious look, she tilted her head. "What's your speciality? My best guy friend is a DJ, hence my being nosy."

They both leaned in to shake her hand, grinning mischievously. "Well, like the shirts say, we're straight," Alice teased, "but yes, we're sisters. Good eye, Audrey, seriously. Most people don't pick up on that for a while. I'm Alice, and this is my older sister, Carrie."

"It'll cool off over the next month. A little," she teased, waving a hand. "Not what you're used to, not with that accent, but we'll toughen you up. And Seventh's just a little bit south of here, yeah, so come on over anytime."

Audrey's eyes brightened. "I've played with just about every style since I started in college," she admitted. "These days I'm more fond of mixing it up. What's your friend into? I like him already, by the way."

"Congratulations on that, then," Audrey said with a laugh as she looked at their shirts. "And thanks, I do try. Maybe I just know sisters 'cause I've got one of my own. Y'all just get here? There's not nearly enough glitter on you yet." She grinned, and god, she'd just said y'all. She was officially re-Texanized.

"Don't give me too hope, because I'm going to hold you to that," Alice teased, taking another gulp of her water. "Ah, yes, the Yankee accent," she agreed with a grin. "I expect I'll hear a lot of comments about it for a while yet. What's fun is watching people try to place me, and drawing blanks."

Leaning her arm on Alice's shoulder, Carrie tilted her head in interest. "That's neat -- how did you get started? College radio, or doing parties? Rick'll play anything, depending on the gig he gets, but he likes dance a lot for regular set-lists at clubs -- some trance, some house, some Eurodance, a couple of the 80s remixes." She took a quick sip, then swallowed before waving the bottle faintly. "But he calls that his sure-fire get-up-and-dance music, since people really respond to something with a good back-beat."

Winking, Alice shrugged expansively to show she didn't mind. "We did just get here, because we haven't been pounced by any glitter-bearers yet." She waggled her eyebrows at Carrie, who chuckled a quiet "that'll change."
