Yunho felt relieved as in the next day Junsu knocked on his door and got in, having his trademark smile on his face. He did not heard of him since the night before and even after he and Jaejoong got back from “Purple Line”, the boy did not return.

“Good morning. So you are alive, huh?” Yunho joked

Junsu tsked “Of course. Who do you think I am? Do you really think that half a dozen gangsters will give me trouble?”

“I’d say they gave you more than trouble.” Yunho said

“Eh? Why?”

“You have scratches on your face and on your neck,” The elder pointed out “although you are trying to hide it with that scarf. Besides, you’re not moving properly. Lift up your shirt.” He commanded

“What are you? A pervert?” Junsu asked, trying to get out of it with a joke and laughing while saying it, but stopping as soon as he felt a pang on his abdomen.

“Are you going to show it to me or do I need to see it for myself?”

Junsu let out an annoyed sigh then “You are worse than a mom!” He said, taking off his jacket and lifting his shirt and revealing a bandage around his abdomen.

“I thought they were just ‘some gangsters’? How did they do that to you? Did you go to the hospital?” Yunho asked, worried.

“I didn’t have to. It’s superficial so it doesn’t…”

“Knowing you, I bet you didn’t even disinfect it first…” Yunho started while still staring. “Let me see the wound”

“No way I’m going to undress!” Junsu protested “Besides, I DID disinfect it and tended to it properly so don’t worry. It’ll just take a couple of days to be okay again.”

“This is why I hate to argue with stubborn people.”

Yunho and Junsu left together and only got on their separate ways when they headed to their respective colleges.

Yunho parked his car, grabbed his bag and headed to his class where he soon found Hee Soo who was already in her seat.

“Good morning. “ He greeted “You got here early today.”

She smiled

“Oh, by the way, can I ask something sudden?”

“Sure” She said

“Do you like flowers?”

“Huh? Flowers? Yes, I love it. I actually used to nag my dad because I always said I wanted to grow flowers and have my own shop.”

“Really?” He asked, faking his surprise “Well, have you heard about the new botanical gardens?”

“Hum. The area was under restoration, right?”

“A friend of mine gave me an invitation for the opening party tonight. Do you want to  go?”

The girl widened her eyes at the sudden question “With you?”

“It doesn’t have to be with me if you don’t want to. I’ll give the invitation to you and you can go with your brother if you want to.” He said.

Hee Soo looked at Yunho and failed to understand if he was disappointed at the situation or not. Somehow she found his expression quite difficult to read.

“Why would I go with Yoochun? Your friend gave you the tickets so why would anyone go in your place? I don’t mind going with you at all.” She said

Yunho smiled then “Alright then. The opening is at 7:30 pm and the gardens will be opened so this won’t be a boring party, I promise. Thanks for going with me” He said, at last.

“No need to thank me” Hee Soo kept smiling then, but the fact that Yunho thanked her for the “favour” had bothered her. First, she was surprised with the invitation, but suddenly that thankful comment felt like a bucket of cold water. For a split second, she actually thought that he was asking her out for real.

Of course that if that was the case, she’d have to refuse since there would be no reason for her to go out with another guy besides her boyfriend, right? However, if that was the case, then why Yunho’s “thank you” was bothering her so much?

Despite all the questions in her head, Hee Soo dismissed it as her “princess syndrome” - which Yoochun so loved to insist she had - acting out.

She was still lost in her thoughts when Yunho’s voice brought her back to reality.

“So, what do you think?” He asked

“About what?”

“About the gravitational laws of Earth.” He said mockingly “I was asking you if I can pick you up at 7pm.”

“Oh, sure.”

“Where do you live?” He asked

“Oh, I’ll write it down” She said, while ripping a piece of paper from her notebook. “Here you go.”

“By the way, can you give me your number?” Yunho started “I was supposed to ask you before, but I thought that if I did, you’d think I was trying to make a move on you, so I kind of… didn’t ask” He said, a bit shyly. “If you don’t want to give me your number, you can have mine and call me if anything comes up”

[Is he real?] She thought [I mean, who gives their number and doesn’t mind that the other person doesn’t give their number back? Well, if he doesn’t want me to think that he is making a move, then he did it. I mean, if it was Yoochun he’d be all greasy about the whole number thing...]

“Here” She said, handing her phone to him “Put your number there and I’ll give you my number too, don’t worry. And it’s okay if you call me.”

“Agreed” Yunho replied as he gave her his phone so that she could record her number.

“Oh… there’s an incoming call…” She said, feeling the cell phone vibrating.

“Oh, thanks. I’ll be right back.”

Yunho got up from his seat and got out of the room quickly, leaving Hee Soo thinking about the name she’d seen on the screen.

“Yoon Jae. I wonder if it’s his girlfriend.”

From outside of the classroom, Yunho picked up the call and was talking to Yoon Jae

“Good morning” She said, but Yunho cut to the chase immediately.

“Is it something wrong?”

“No, nothing is wrong. Why does it have to be something wrong for me to call you?” She asked, slightly annoyed.

“Then why did you?”

“To talk to you.”

Yunho sighed, loosing his patience quickly “Yoon Jae, I’m at my college and the class is about to start so I’d say this is not the best moment.”

“I’m at college too. How are the classes going? Boring?”

“It’s normal.” He said, simply.

“Just that? Quite the original dialog.” She said, getting even more annoyed “Can’t we have a normal talk?”

“You were the one who called, remember? I thought you had something to say.”

“Well, given that usually it takes two to develop a dialog, one hopes that they both talk or otherwise it’d be called a monologue instead of a dialog or even a conversation.” She beamed.

“Did you hit your head on something?” He asked

“Forget it. Call me when you want to have a normal talk if you ever remember I exist again.” Yoon Jae said, hanging up.

“Is she crazy?”

~*~

At the Art College, just one street down, the mood was not any better.

Junsu had managed to get inside the classroom and get a seat at the last row that had almost all seats taken when Sung Ri arrived and besides that, Junsu’s fans were also perfect to keep the girl away from him since they’d be clinging onto the boy every single second.

Honestly, Junsu was tired from all the squeaking and the little laughs but he was guessing that it was better than talk with Sung Ri for the time being. Adding to all that, was the fact that he didn’t get a wink of sleep because his wound was more painful that he let others think and the anaesthetic effect from the pill he’d taken was already over.

Junsu was happy to see that after a few classes went by, Sung Ri had given up trying to approach him and to make sure that she remained away from him, he made sure to get inside and outside the classroom before at all times and pray for her to forget all those questions that he was sure she wanted to ask him.

More than four hours went by and in all of them Junsu did the same: just before the class ended, he’d sneak out. As the fifth class was coming to an end, she saw Junsu starting to grab his things and leave in silence.

“Where are you going?” Yoon Jae asked as she saw her friend getting up suddenly

“Sorry, I have something to do.”

Sung Ri left the classroom and looked around, trying to spot Junsu but with no luck so she cursed him silently for disappearing like that but as she was still looking around, she spotted him at the very end of the corridor, walking in a fast pace towards the boy’s bathroom so she decided that it was finally her chance and ran as fast as she could.

Deciding that her dignity would not make her get inside the boy’s bathroom, she waited patiently outside until she finally got tired and thought “The hell with dignity!” and got inside.

“Yah!” She yelled, and a very surprised and half naked Junsu turned around to face her “Oh my God! Is that the wound from yesterday?” She asked, almost in panic, as Junsu kept trying to cover himself.

“You are in the wrong bathroom, do you know that?” He stated matter of factly

“Shut up. I didn’t realize it was so big… doesn’t it hurt?” She asked, instinctively touching Junsu’s abdomen and making him twitch. “Sorry.”

“Are you blind?” He blurted “Of course it hurts! Do you mind getting out, please?”

“Turn around” She commanded as she grabbed the boy’s arms and made him face her “Do you have anything to clean it up?”

“You really don’t have any shame, do you?” He stated more than asking while giving her a small bottle of disinfectant and some gauze.

“This is my way to say ‘thank you’ for saving me last night, nothing more”

“You could just say the words…” He said and she gave him a glare “…or you can tend to my wound, either one is fine.” He finished, clearly defeated by her glare.

“It’s done” She announced while starting to clean things and pack everything back on the small bag Junsu had.

“It’s really not bad. I guess you can be useful after all.”

“Gee…thanks. A compliment coming from you.”

“I’m guessing you hate me a little less than yesterday?” He asked, tentatively.

“It doesn’t matter. It’s true anyway and it would be just a matter of time. Although I still think you are an asshole.”

“So, you are really pregnant?” Junsu asked while putting his clothes back on.

“You read the letter” She said

“Was that letter to the father?”

Sung Ri finally gave Junsu’s bag back, looking at him after that last question “I think you are asking too much.”

The girl turned around then and left the bathroom, leaving Junsu behind, looking at her for a moment, before following suit.

“Oy!” He called “It’s time for lunch. You are not eating?”

“I packed my lunch” She said, without looking back as he ran after her.

Sung Ri sat down on a bench, probably located on one of the most hidden parts of the campus where no one could be seen.

“Are you running away from someone?” Junsu asked “You have the whole campus and you come here?”

“I’m trying to run from nosy people, just like you. Why are you following me anyway?”

Junsu scrunched his face a bit at her sarcastic tone “Can’t you be a little nicer? Oh! That looks delicious!” He perked, while grabbing a piece of her kimbap and earning a slap on the hand. “Stingy! You know? I’ve noticed that you have some serious humour changes going on. A few minutes ago you were all worried for my wound and now you are basically mistreating me because I wanted to eat a piece of kimbap. That attitude towards life is not healthy at all do you know that?” He said

She looked at him lecture her with an incredulous look on her face and finally when he shut up, she gave him that piece of kimbap that he so wanted just to keep him from talking any more nonsense.

“Here, take it” She said and he looked at her hand, questioning look in his eyes “It’s a painkiller. I bet you don’t have any.”

“Thank you” Junsu said and grabbed the pill from the girl’s hand.

“Make sure you take it after eating properly and try not to drive to school. The less you do until the wound closes the better.”

Junsu chuckled at her advices and especially at her serious face while saying it.

“You see? Those are the humour changes I’m talking about! A minute ago you almost wanted to kill me for stealing a bit of your kimbap!”

“Get used to it” She stated as she resumed eating “This is who I am except for the fact that usually I would not talk so much with someone I’ve met 3 days ago and that humiliated me in front of the whole school. However, given the fact that you have showed me that you are not the total jackass I thought you were, I decided to give you a second chance.”

“Second? You’ve never given me the first!” He affirmed

“See? You’re lucky then. I don’t give second chances to people that did not even deserved the first.”

He scratched his head, thinking of how odd that girl actually was.

“Aren’t you bored of being here? Don’t you have some place to go, some girl to seduce? By the way, where is your legion of fans?”

“Well, while I’m here I thought I could start seducing you.” He said in a greasy tone

“No, thanks. You’re not my style” She declined

“Liar” He accused “I saw how you looked at me while I was shirtless in the bathroom”

“Yeah, I was surprised as I thought that you looked way better with your shirt on so I’d advise you to keep it on at all times.”

“YAH!”

“Don’t ‘YAH’ me! Why do you keep talking in that impolit - ” She started but then a slight pain made her stop “Ah!”

“What is it?” Junsu asked, looking at the girl as she got pale.

“It’s nothing. It was just a strange… Oh shoot! Ah…”

“Are you okay? Yah, you are pale and trembling. Yah, are you listening to me?” He continued, as he tried to make Sung Ri look at him but the girl was already starting to sweat, keeping her hand on her stomach and that was when Junsu noticed the blood starting to come down and through her legs and as it did, she kept crouching down until she was sitting on the floor, hand covered in blood while just looking at Junsu and pleading.

“Please, help me…”
