Chicago-style pizza for those now out-of-state
Since leaving Chicago I've come to recognize a major disparity in pizza culture: people who have not spent much time in Chicago think that "Chicago-style pizza" means a 2" thick crusty rim around a deep-dish pizza with a thick bready crust, at least 1/2", sometimes nearly a full inch of bread under the pizza. Walnut spinach tortellini
This is not so much of a recipe, as it is a record of many highly compatible fancy groceries in my house, which I mixed together in a recipe-like way. In any case, the result was fantastic! A pleasant combination of easy and fancy.
1lb bag frozen tortellini - Trader Joe's Grogonzola- Walnut is what inspired the meal.

Quick Jam Cookies
The person I got the recipe from calls these SPLIT-SECONDS but I don't think they're quite *that* quick. In any case, they're delicious shortbread-like cookies, rectangular with a stripe of jam in the middle. Never Fail Pie Crust
This is the pie crust to make if you have a hard time making pie crusts or are intimidated by them, or have never made one before. Turtle Cookies aka Millionaire Shortbread Cookies
This is a pan or bar cookie, with a layer of shortbread, a layer of nuts, a layer of caramel, and a layer of chocolate.
