Since leaving Chicago I've come to recognize a major disparity in pizza culture: people who have not spent much time in Chicago think that "Chicago-style pizza" means a 2" thick crusty rim around a deep-dish pizza with a thick bready crust, at least 1/2", sometimes nearly a full inch of bread under the pizza.
