Giles as Elton?
So have any of you Buffy fans heard about Anthony Stewart Head's upcoming sitcom for ABC? He'll be playing an aging gay rock star whose high maintenance needs stress out his manager and those around him. The executive producer is none other than Sir Elton John. I'm not sure of when the pilot is set to premiere, but I'm mighty curious about this. -
Columbia House
I just joined the Columbia House DVD club. I belonged to their record club in junior high. The options for first timers are limited. They let you get 5 cds for around $0.50 each plus shipping; I manged to nab Scarface, The Iron Giant, My Fair Lady, To Kill a Mockingbird and Jaws. First bonafide problem with the iMac (aka HELP!)
I ruined four CDs last night trying to burn off some files. At first, the machine kept spitting them out during the part where the file contents are being verified. When I tried reading the CD, there'd be no data on it and it was no longer any good to use. Oh buttercup squash, why art thou making me miserable?
I have squash. Jay hates squash because he's only ever had it boiled to mush and mixed with maple syrup or brown sugar and cinnamon. I've been looking for recipes for a half hour and all I can find are sweet recipes or curried recipes (and he loathes curry).
Is there no other purpose for winter squash? Does anyone have any simple suggestions? -
Does your state / province or city have anti-idling legislation?
I first heard of this now while reading an article about the international respiratory health effects of global warming. The city of Montreal, for instance, has recently enacted a law that states that makes it illegal to leave your engine idling for more than three minutes. I'm wondering how this will be enforced, though. Unless someone's engine ( Read more... ) -
Red wine makes spaghetti sauce taste better than chocolate
It's true. I had a half-glass of wine leftover and made some spaghetti sauce last night with lots of garlic, mushrooms and zucchini. I could live off this sauce for a while, it's so good.
And no Karl, I wasn't suggesting that anyone should put chocolate in spaghetti sauce to make it taste better. :-P -
The Animal Ethics Reader
I've been discovering that this book has many articles that seem to be abridged versions of longer articles or chapters from books. I've just leafed through it and have read a short article in it about companion animals that addresses overpopulation as well as the moral responsibility we have towards them when we take them in.
