I ruined four CDs last night trying to burn off some files. At first, the machine kept spitting them out during the part where the file contents are being verified. When I tried reading the CD, there'd be no data on it and it was no longer any good to use. I tried this with different types of file, filling the CD or merely trying to burn off around 200 MB of data.
We use iTunes to burn music and just use the iMac's regular old burning feature to burn other files. We've never had a problem with it. When I got my error messages, I kept getting "Code 6" in the message. The last time I tried it, I got a "Code 3" and it spit out the CD as soon as the burning process started.
Any idea of what could be causing this or of what I can do to fix it?
Edit: We have a copy of Toast (Jay waited 2-3 years to point that out) and I burned off a CD with no problems. I can keep using Toast, but would still like to figure out what caused the other problem, so if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to share 'em. Thanks!
