Well its been far too long since my last post to even try to do a recap. Instead I'll just start from where we are. For very specific reasons we decided Jacob needed rice in his diet. After feeding him rice cereal for 2 days and seeing marginal results someone suggested we give him actual rice. Well, he's a year old, he's eating solids, why not ( Read more... ) -
Cuteness continued
So we're in the kitchen, baby is in the living room, stranded happily on his back playing with some toys. We know he can roll from belly to back because, well, he hates being on his belly, but since he's never showed an interest in going the other way (since he knows he'd land on his tummy and hates that), we consider him still imobile. Sittin' up!
Well there's no page in the baby book for "first trip to the emergency room" so I'll have to add one. Jacob woke up last week choking for breath. He sounded kinda like a barking seal, it was scary. We headed into the emergency room and it seems he has Croup. Croup is not a sickness but is a condition that happens because the baby has a cold ( ( Read more... ) -
4 months already!
Jacob is 4 months old!!! Had is checkup last week. he's in the 50th percentile for weight and 25th percentile for length. According to the doctor he's not overweight, he's just undertall. Welcome to the short side of life baby! (more on that later though).
Since I last posted he's had a cold, gotten over a cold. Started sitting with ( Read more... ) -
Mama said there'd be days like this....
That oldies song has been stuck in my head for the last 5 hours because we're having one of those afternoons. Apparently this morning I ate everything the breastfeeding books say could possibly upset the baby (found out after the fact). He's been cranky, which I can usually deal with... like say last weekend for instance... he had a growth spurt ( Read more... ) -
Are these mine?
Jacob continues to slowly discover his hands. Last week he spent a lot of time staring at his fist and then shoving it in his mouth. This week he seems to actually be grabbing hold of things... and then shoving them into his mouth. He is learning new things every day! His hair is starting to really fill in all around the front of his head, but ( Read more... ) -
10 Weeks
Jacob is getting sooo big! He is starting to discover his hands and spends a considerable amount of time trying to get his whole fist in his mouth. He has 3 different toys which will react when he hits/kicks them and right now he is much more interested in them than his own parents! Apparently after 10 weeks we have become blase. Is it weird?
Is it weird that Jacob loves having his diaper changed? He can be fussy and cranky and as soon as I lay him down in the changing table he gets all smiley and happy. He especially loves the bum drying process. He had some pretty bad diaper rashes when we first brought him home so we we've learned to make sure his bum is completely dry before ( Read more... )
