Well there's no page in the baby book for "first trip to the emergency room" so I'll have to add one. Jacob woke up last week choking for breath. He sounded kinda like a barking seal, it was scary. We headed into the emergency room and it seems he has Croup. Croup is not a sickness but is a condition that happens because the baby has a cold (which he had) and isn't able to clear the congestion from their lungs. The airways get inflamed and they can't breathe. Coughing and crying exacerbate the problem and we were letting him cry when he woke up because we thought it would help clear stuff. :( He had some inhaled treatments and is doing much better now. He's breathing fine but has some residual coughing.
On a lighter note we've reached another milestone. Jacob is sitting on his own. the picture below is a bit outdated as its from last week when he needed the support of the boppy pillow in order to sit!
